Local Fans may operate other local platforms and services in the future. References in these Terms to “Local Fans”, “LocalFans”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the platform and service operated by Ben Peters trading as Local Fans, as applicable.

These Terms of Use apply when you access or use LocalFans, including when you browse the platform or create a LocalFan account.

By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

Please read our Privacy Notice for information about how we use personal information.

Anyone can browse publicly available content on LocalFans.

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own LocalFan account.

If we reasonably believe an account has been created by someone under the permitted age, we may suspend the account while we investigate and may remove it where appropriate.

You must provide accurate and current information when creating and using your account.

You are responsible for access to the email account used to sign in to LocalFans and for activity carried out through your authenticated LocalFans account.

You must not:

• create an account using someone else's identity without permission;
• impersonate another person or business;
• deliberately provide false or misleading information;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account; or
• use LocalFans in a way that interferes with the platform or other users.

LocalFans helps people discover independent and locally run businesses, services and organisations.

Business profiles may contain information supplied and managed by the relevant business owner or representative.

Although we may review or moderate listings, Local Fans does not independently verify every statement, service, opening time, price or other detail published by a business.

You should check important information directly with the relevant business before making a purchase, booking or journey.

Businesses may publish offers through LocalFans.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, an offer is provided by the business publishing it and not by Local Fans.

Businesses are responsible for clearly communicating any restrictions, expiry dates, availability or other offer conditions.

Local Fans does not guarantee that an offer will remain available.

Any purchase or transaction is between you and the relevant business.

Businesses and organisations may promote events through LocalFans.

Event information may change and events may be postponed or cancelled.

You should check important event information with the organiser before attending.

Where LocalFans links to an external booking or ticket provider, your booking or purchase may also be subject to that provider's terms.

Local Fans is not the organiser of an event unless we expressly state otherwise.

LocalFans may display job vacancies published by local businesses and organisations.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Local Fans is not an employer, recruitment agency or employment business in relation to these vacancies.

The business publishing a vacancy is responsible for the accuracy and legality of the vacancy and its recruitment process.

Applications and employment decisions are between the applicant and the relevant business.

Registered LocalFans may be able to review businesses they have used.

When leaving a review, you must:

• give an honest account of your own genuine experience;
• ensure the review relates to the relevant business;
• avoid knowingly false or misleading statements;
• avoid threatening, abusive, discriminatory or unlawful content;
• avoid publishing another person's private information;
• avoid spam or promotional content; and
• not manipulate ratings or reviews.

You are responsible for the content of your review.

Businesses may be able to respond publicly to reviews.

Reviews and responses may be reported to Local Fans. We may investigate, hide, restore or remove content where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms, our moderation standards or applicable law.

We do not promise to remove a review simply because a business disagrees with it or because it is negative.

You retain ownership of content you submit to LocalFans.

By submitting content for publication, you give Local Fans a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and technically adapt that content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the Local Fans platform on which it appears.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the content.

You must not upload or publish content that infringes another person's intellectual property rights, privacy or other legal rights.

Registered users may be able to save businesses, offers, events or jobs.

Saved content is provided as a convenience and does not guarantee that the relevant content will remain available or unchanged.

LocalFans may send service and account notifications relating to your use of the platform. Depending on the feature, you may be able to manage certain notification preferences in your account.

Essential security, account and moderation communications may still be sent where necessary.

If you choose to receive marketing emails from Local Fans, we may send you occasional information about local businesses, offers, events, jobs and Local Fans services.

Marketing preferences are optional.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting hello@localfans.co.uk.

Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary account, security or service communications.

You must not use LocalFans:

• for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
• to harass, threaten or abuse another person;
• to publish discriminatory or hateful content;
• to distribute malware or harmful code;
• to scrape or systematically extract platform data without permission;
• to interfere with the operation or security of the service;
• to create fake accounts or reviews;
• to manipulate platform features, ratings or engagement; or
• in a way that may cause harm to Local Fans, businesses or other users.

We may restrict, suspend or remove an account where we reasonably believe:

• these Terms have been breached;
• the account presents a security risk;
• the account is being used fraudulently;
• platform features are being abused;
• another person or business may be at risk; or
• action is reasonably necessary to comply with the law.

Where appropriate, we may investigate before taking final action.

LocalFans may contain links to third-party websites, maps, booking platforms or other services.

Local Fans does not control those third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Your use of a third-party service may be subject to separate terms and privacy information.

We aim to keep LocalFans available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may change, improve, suspend or withdraw parts of the platform.

During testing and early development, some features may change as the service develops.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

LocalFans is primarily a discovery and information platform.

Local Fans is not responsible for the acts, omissions, goods or services of independent businesses listed on the platform.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these Terms.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will be published on LocalFans with the date it was last updated.

Where a change materially affects registered users, we may also provide an appropriate notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live where applicable.
